Ep. 2 - Morning Walk

It was a very long dream last night. So many things came in my mind. I'm glad I'm still awake this morning.

The atmosphere of the early day here is so much different than what I had in my room back in my home. Calm and smell like breakfast. I knew aunt Ummi is preparing something down there. How lucky!

I was a bit late, Baba and Afia have left for their daily routine. Work and school while aunt Ummi greet me with her loveliest smile. Nice breakfast and nice tea at the very kitchen.

The weather looks so good outside. Maybe I should take a walk and see what's stuff going on in this small town. Let me see...

Oh, I didn't know that my outfit were too up-to-date for the people here. So, I have to dig up my luggage for appropriate things to wear. It sound funny but as what Mama always teach me, respect other people's perspective. Alright, Mama.

This town looks pretty busy than the moment I first arrive yesterday. People starting their works and opening their shops. Ships docked and fisherman lodging out their catches out from the boxes. Such a wonderful routine. People work together for each other, for the town.

"Hi, are you new here?" I was a bit shocked. This guy surprises me. I nodded with smile. He have such a sweet smile. "No wonder, never seen you around before." Friendly.

Yes. Beside the beautiful scenery, this town have a very friendly people. I'm glad this trip is worth it.

Although this town is pretty small, they have a huge library. Nice one. I bet these people loves reading and that's great. Baba have been working as a librarian for the rest of his life and he loves it very much.

"How was your first day here, dear?"
"It was so nice. I didn't know this town have a wonderful sea side!"
"Yes they are beautiful. Baba loves it so much. How I wish your Mama and you can stay here together."

I looked at Baba. I was surprised. I didn't know he still misses Mama as how much I want them to be together.

Baba smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Your Mama is a good women and I'm glad I married her and have you in our life." I looked at Baba patiently. I want to listen more. I want to know more. He talk softly.

It was such a destiny. Baba had rough moments and he needs space to fix himself. Although Baba left us, he never stop writes and send postcards to me. He never stop asking about Mama and our lives there. Everything change until Baba met aunt Ummi.

From losing his faith to someone that a 12 years old daughter call him as hero. Aunt Ummi had brought a big differences to Baba. Something that I don't even know what was that.

I look at Baba's eyes. He did changed. A lot. But this changes have made me love him even more than I had before.
